Why do we aim to provide these courses?

To uphold the values of traditional music education using modern technology

To support the music education of any student taking or wishing to take instrumental lessons

To support instrumental teachers in their work
What support might instrumental teachers find beneficial?
In terms of their instrumental teaching, absolutely nothing - they are experts in that instrument and that is what they are teaching! But... Music Education is a multi-faceted subject. A short weekly lesson of less than 45 minutes in which the focus is to learn to play an instrument gives precious little remaining time for everything else. Such as:

solid technical foundations

developing sight reading skills

developing aural skills

playing by ear

developing performance skills

listening to and analysing recordings
These are the skills that contribute towards a well-rounded musician.
